Over half a decade ago, my journey into podcasting began with a simple flyer I stumbled upon at Keystone College. Intrigued, I attended a workshop that sparked my interest and introduced me to a network of like-minded individuals. At the time, I was already experimenting with my own podcast, “The Hat Club,” which highlighted the stories of women juggling many roles, much like myself.

Inspired by the workshop, I decided to take my passion further. After a conversation with my sister Tara Macciocco, we envisioned turning our daily chats into a podcast. With the support of the Keystone community, we secured access to their studio and set out to record our first episode.

Sitting in the car, brainstorming names, we landed on “Sole Sisters,” reflecting our shared love for sneakers and active lifestyles. Minutes later, we were in the studio, recording organically, just as we would any conversation. Thanks to the assistance of Keystone students, the technical aspects were a breeze, and soon, our podcast was live.

Though far from perfect, our podcast served as a platform to share stories and connect with others. As COVID-19 disrupted our plans, we took a hiatus, only to recently revive the podcast with a renewed purpose. Now, we focus on amplifying the voices of women from diverse backgrounds, blending sports and business narratives.

What started as a simple idea has evolved into a meaningful endeavor. Beyond sharing stories, “Sole Sisters” represents the bond between Tara and me—a testament to the power of sisterhood and shared experiences. Each week, we look forward to continuing this journey, grateful for the support of our listeners and the opportunity to empower others through our platform.

As we navigate new territory, Tara and I remain committed to uplifting women and fostering a community of strength and resilience. Join us on this adventure as we celebrate the voices and stories of remarkable women everywhere.
