Are you strategic with your networking?

Confession time: I’m a dedicated networking enthusiast! Networking, for me, transcends the professional realm; it’s a genuine passion. Over the years, I have met so many terrific people through teaching, blogging, business and now podcasting. In the extensive journey, I’ve come to a realization – there really is a strategy when it comes to networking. I recently shared a solo episode of Sole Sisters Podcast on this very topic, networking.

Here are some of my tips…
→ In-Person Networking:
Connecting face-to-face holds a magic that digital communication can’t replicate. It’s about exchanging energy, interpreting body language, and fostering authentic connections. Stepping out of your comfort zone can be daunting, but the transformative experiences gained from investing in personal growth and attending events are truly invaluable.

–> Networking on Social Media:
Welcome to my online playground! Here are some expert tips from Jenna Kutcher – Set post notifications for key connections, move beyond mere emojis in your comments, and recognize the goldmine that is LinkedIn for connecting with fellow entrepreneurs and leaders.

→ Thoughtful Outreach:
Approaching networking with a sincere desire to build meaningful relationships is key. Prioritize quality over quantity, whether engaging in cold outreach or connecting with specific individuals. In a recent podcast episode, I shared my strategy for the upcoming EMPOWER conference in April. I’m meticulously following and engaging with the speakers beforehand, aiming to foster authentic connections and understanding their journey.

—> Follow-Up is Key:
Post-conference or event, don’t underestimate the power of thoughtful follow-up. Personalize your outreach by jotting down notes on business cards, fostering lasting relationships beyond the mere exchange of contact information. Connect on social media or via email, offering support and paving the way for potential collaborations.

→ Networking is a Lifelong Skill:
Approach networking with purpose, authenticity, and a commitment to fostering meaningful connections. Whether through podcasts or other platforms, seize opportunities to connect and collaborate. Remember, it’s the quality, not the quantity, of your connections that truly matters.

If you’re attending the EMPOWER, The Leadership Experience in April, I extend a warm invitation to connect with me. I’d relish the opportunity to put faces to names at the conference. Don’t forget to take a listen to the Networking with Confidence episode on Sole Sister’s Podcast.
